Streamline Processes and Unburden Documentation

Nursing staff members are responsible for many time-consuming tasks during their working hours. In the area of process innovation and digitalization, current processes will be streamlined with the help of innovation and digitalization. There are already many technological solutions that could simplify the day-to-day work of nursing staff, but these have not yet reached nursing practice. In order to achieve the main goal of streamlining processes and simplifying documentation, several steps are taken: The in-depth analysis of current care processes is followed by the development, implementation and evaluation of streamlined processes, as well as a self-developed digital tool to simplify the admission process. The end users, i.e. nursing staff and patients, as well as stakeholders are involved in all steps. By closely linking the three sub-projects, the findings of the process analysis gained in the first sub-project and the legal framework for the use of digital aids can be actively used in the other two sub-projects to gain a deep understanding of current nursing care processes. The constellation of the consortium with the different partners and the bottom-up digitization approach will enable the desired goals to be achieved.

The knowledge gained in project 1 about current nursing care processes and documentation will be used as a basis for project 2 and project 3 to generate decision support algorithms and data sets for the development of AI models. These developments from project 2 and 3 will directly influence project 1 in terms of streamlining processes and simplifying documentation processes. The legal findings developed in project 1 will then be applied in projects 2 and 3.
