Services for Researchers

The Research Management team supports research projects from the initial idea to completion. We advise and assist Med Uni Graz researchers in the following areas:

• Acquisition of funding
• Application, planning and costing of projects
• Transfer of research findings and technologies to society
• Intellectual property, material and knowledge transfer issues

Research Management also coordinates the awarding of internal funding programs and prizes.

The main service institution is the Coordination Center for Clinical Trials (KKS), which supports project management of investigator initiated trials (IIT) and assures the quality of how the study is conducted through monitoring.

The Clinical Trials Unit is a fully equipped clinical research institution that assists Med Uni Graz researchers and University Hospital doctors in realizing and carrying out Phase 1 clinical trials.

Research Data Management (RDM) at Med Uni Graz assists researchers in optimizing the organization of their research data from data collection during a research project to storage and internal provisioning to archiving, publication and postprocessing of research results. Research data have lasting value in research and teaching and the potential to be widely used by the general public. In its Research Data Management Policy, Med Uni Graz acknowledges that easily detectable and traceable research data are a basic and integral component of all scientific research.

Innovative business ideas require start-up help. Med Uni Graz supports staff, students and graduates who would like to start a business based on their own invention or research idea. The Research Management team informs and advises aspiring entrepreneurs on funding opportunities and helps them establish contacts.

Med Uni Graz cooperates with Science Park Graz, which provides coaching and advising as well as financial support and office space. Science Park Graz is the joint academic incubator of the University of Graz, Graz University of Technology and the Medical University of Graz.
