Diabetes and pain management in hospitals are often uncoordinated, complex, and therefore very time-consuming. In both use cases, nursing staff and patients will be empowered within this third sub-project through the use of digital systems to support clinical decisions. The empowerment of nursing staff is achieved through the analysis, development, implementation and evaluation of technical solutions (decision support systems; use cases diabetes and pain) in order to be able to work independently on the basis of evidence-based knowledge. Specific standardized data sets from the second N!CA sub-project will be used to develop decision support applications. The legal aspects and the possibility of autonomous work by nursing staff using digital tools are already dealt with in the first sub-project and are incorporated into this third project.
