The Otto Loewi Research Center for Vascular Biology, Immunology and Inflammation was founded at the Medical University of Graz in 2018 and brings together the expertise of four divisions and the lung research group. The researchers of the center focus on inflammatory diseases of the lung, intestine, heart and brain. In numerous projects the function of immune cell subpopulations in inflammation, tumor and autoimmune diseases is being investigated. Another area of interest is integrative structural biology, computer-aided compound design and nanomaterials enabling us to find new therapeutic targets and to develop novel drug candidates for the treatment of these diseases.
