External control: When and when not

With the increasing availability of quality real world data sources, external control analyses are becoming more and more popular. This presentation provides a short introduction into external control analyses and then focuses the discussion on two important areas for external control analyses:

the different sources of potential bias and
areas of meaningful applications.

The use of external controls will finally be discussed also in some examples.
