Madalina Duta-Mare received her PhD from the Medical University of Graz under the supervision of Prof. Dagmar Kratky. She is pharmacist by profession and has several years of experience in regulatory affairs of medicinal products for human use. Madalina is employed at the European Medicines Agency where she works as scientific officer responsible for management of allocated products portfolio and procedures in accordance with scientific, legal and regulatory requirements.
Christoph Haudum graduated from the University of Salzburg and the TU Graz from his bachelor and master study, respectively. During these, he had the opportunity to join an exchange program and internships in renowned institutions: University of Cardiff, Max Planck Institute of Biochemistry, and Karolinska Institutet. After completing his master thesis at the Medical University of Graz, he then continued to do his PhD in the PhD program Advanced Medical Biomarker Research, during which he successfully secured a grant and won a prestigious prize. He continued in a part-time postdoc position, working on biomarkers in metabolic disorders and simultaneouly as business development manager in the same institute. By the end of last year, he joined Erba Technologies Austria in Graz as clinical studies manager.
Christiane Klec started her career at the University of Graz where she graduated in Molecular Microbiology. She then pursued a PhD at the Medical University of Graz at the Division of Molecular Biology and Biochemistry where she worked on the topic of cellular energy metabolism of cancerous cells. After finishing her PhD, Christiane Klec accepted a Post Doc Position at the Division of Oncology at the Medical University of Graz where she worked on the interplay between non-coding RNAs and energy metabolism of breast and colorectal cancer. Christiane Klec was able to get a FWF Hertha-Firnberg scholarship as well as funding of the OeGHO and the MEFOgraz. Within the next year she will finish her main project as well as her habilitation. At the beginning of this year, she opted for a career in pharma industry at AstraZeneca Austria, where she currently works as Medical Science Liaison Oncology and is responsible for the indications of breast, ovarian and prostate cancer.Birgit Ploier-Brandauer currently works as Medical Manager at Janssen-Cilag Pharma GmbH in Vienna where she is responsible for the disease area medical strategy and leading the Medical Affairs Team for Oncology. Birgit Ploier studied Technical Chemistry at the Graz University of Technology and did her PhD in Prof. Günther Daum’s Research Group on Lipid Metabolism at the Institute of Biochemistry at the TU Graz. After her PhD, she moved to New York City for two years and worked as PostDoc at the Weill Cornell Medical College as part of a Schrödinger fellowship. After her return to Austria she first came back to the Graz University of Technology as Senior Postdoc before entering the Pharmaceutical Industry at Janssen where she started as Medical Scientific Liaison in Immunology. After 2 years as Medical Scientific Liaison, she got promoted to Medical Advisor Oncology responsible for Austria and Switzerland and got further promoted to her current position Medical Manager.
